According to the Alaska Department of Fish and Game, while both male and female reindeer grow antlers in the summer each year, male reindeer drop their antlers at the beginning of winter, usually late November to mid-December. Female reindeer retain their antlers till after they give birth in the spring.

Therefore, according to EVERY historical rendition depicting Santa's reindeer, EVERY single one of them, from Rudolph to Blitzen, had to be a girl.

  1. ok i was like "Are you seriously telling me this... I still don't care!!!"

    I mean come on we're following a fat man flying... you think i care if they say male reindeer don't have antlers? and who's this alaska group anyway? I mean they're obviously magical flying fricken creatures yes? So they have antlers - male female or not! Damn!
    (What I mean to say is I've recieved this a few times too!)
